In this intensive course you will learn to mordant fibres, create a palette of natural colour, and design and weave a final project. Working predominantly with dyestuffs growing in Trillium Park, we will go through the process of harvesting, preparing and extracting plant materials for dye. The dyed yarns will then be used to design and weave a small project. The class will be a space for participants to harvest and utilize natural dyes and learn introductory on-loom weaving techniques. Workshop activities will include; looking, touching, smelling, harvesting, extracting, dyeing, designing and weaving. All skill levels welcome. Saturday and Sunday are potluck for lunch. Participants are welcome to bring personal dinner snacks for the after work sessions.
