This is a great introduction to botanical printing on cloth using both animal or vegetable fibres. Using local spring flowers and leaves, two steam pots will be done. One pot will be alum pre-mordanted cotton cloth that is provided, and a second pot with 1 or 2 personal garments that will be iron mordanted at start of session. Please bring 3 or 4 clean light coloured garments for possible use and we will begin by having conversations about what prints well. Fine weight wools, cotton/linen tops or nylon undergarments are all possible!
Participants wishing to wrap a larger bulky object will be limited to 1 garment, those with fine weight small garments may wrap 2 or 3. No blankets please.
Once our pots are steaming there is free time, so personal hand-work projects are encouraged
