Moving through the spectrum of soft small scale brushes towards larger heavy duty brooms, this guild will empower participants to see the potential of materials at hand to create useful and artful household objects.
Informed by the interests of the group, Nicole will guide participants in how to identify materials and their possible applications while exploring a variety of binding methods appropriate for different sizes and uses of brushes and brooms. Highly adaptable to each person’s interests and access, materials used could include anything from foraged plant fibres and twigs, to animal hairs or repurposed plastic broom hairs – the possibilities are endless!
