A special afternoon circling through a variety of activities: processing fibres from fireweed and nettle stalks, starting dye baths with fireweed leaves, making drop spindles from the inner pith of blackberry vines and documenting all of these processes on film to be developed with the leaves from the nettle stalks!
The resulting drop spindles, processed fibres, and dyed wool come together at our celebration on Oct 15 at Moberly Arts Centre. Participating community members will have one free ticket confirmed for the Oct. 15th event.
This event is outdoors rain or shine, under cover as necessary, please plan to dress for the weather.
Thank you to the Vancouver Park Board Neighbourhood Matching Fund for making the walks and other programming free to the public through financial support.
The Neighbourhood Matching Fund supports local residents to lead creative art
and environmental improvement projects with neighbours in their community.
