Reweaving Our Words
Join the UBC Learning Exchange and EartHand Gleaners Society at Trillium Park for an afternoon of weaving. We’ll be harvesting plants and stripping the fibres, spinning and dyeing wool, and working on the Land Loom. Weavers from our fall weaving series will display their work and be on hand to answer questions, along with experienced weaving facilitators. As we busy our hands with fibre, we will embark on a conversation about the experience of losing language and the ways in which we might regain and reweave these hidden words back into our lives. There’ll be music and food too! Trillium Park (south west corner of the Malkin and Thornton intersection), Fri Nov 3, 1-4 pm
Dress for the weather! Rainy weather finds us working under tarped work-zones but garden visits, washroom trips, and moving between work-zones requires rain gear or umbrellas. Warm layers are advised for cooler days.
