These special sessions are our way of celebrating Vancouver’s Bird Week all month long. These sessions are planned as a special mix of our past Spinners Slow Hike events combined with methods of outdoor education and nature observation. Spinners or felters find quiet spots around the gardens to work while observing their environment; listening for birds, looking at the blooms’ and abundance of spring life. At the start we will set participants up with either local fleece and spindles or a simple felt bird project. Time to sit and work independently in the garden as well as collective time discussing what and who we are seeing in the garden. A perfect blend for submersing ourselves in the beauty that is the month May at both Trillium and MOP.
All materials provided, some stools are available.
A part of the Stitch and Strategize Residency these events are hosted by Amy and Sharon and supported by Vancouver Park Board: Arts, Culture and Engagement
