A virtual artist talk on clothing
Tuesday April 21st 7-9pm
Free Event
Join Sharon Kallis in her home studio as she talks about her own journey making clothing from old garments.
The daughter of a seamstress, Sharon began making her own clothes from family garment cast-offs around the age of 12. With many spectacular early fails that served as lessons in garment construction, she has lots to say about what we wear and how we choose to clothe ourselves.
Sharon will share some tricks and tips to inspire your own creations as she discusses various garment hacks from her own wardrobe; daylighting the process of making new from what we already own.
Demonstrations on sweater cutting, pattern drafting from old favourite garments and tips for beginners keen to jump into garment recycling for new clothes.
