Virtual times: Tuesdays 7.15-8.45 pm
August 4, 18, Sept. 1, 15, October, 6, 20
Starting with easy at home mordanting options like soybeans, leftover yogurt and pickling alum at-home dying with plants and ingredients found in the kitchen are explored in this guild.
Save your big jars, start scouting local materials from back alleys, yards, green waste and compost- then join CZarina on her at-home dying journey.
The first session is a simple how-to for different steps of simple mordanting,a follow up session for questions and answers as folks get their own mordanting done. Following sessions will be hands-on working time online doing bundle wraps, exploring compost piles, solar bundles, leaf saving for winter pots and iron rust pots. Some time at the beginning will cover how to safely carve out a little corner of your kitchen for temporary dye work.
Suggested materials list to assemble will be announced soon!
