Using a variety of cattail, iris, day lily and other soft plants; participants have a chance to make either a sun hat or small basket. The primary method used is twining, no experience is necessary but those new to weaving may want to plan on a basket instead of a hat where there are less fitting requirements. Participants should bring an old mid-sized bath towel that can be rolled up and used as a hat form. All other materials are included. Depending on speed of production, participants may need to do weaving between classes in order to complete the project in the second class.
NOTE: As of May 27th the intention is this class will go forward with reduced number of participants to observe social distancing in our outside workspace. If needed, the program will move to an online format.
Participants who register will receive a full refund if not feeling well the day of the event. Materials and tools will be assigned to each person for the program, and masks are required and will be worn when instructor is close giving one on one advice. Bring your own snacks and tea.
